web developer, villager, father and Englishman abroad

I'm based in the Puget Sound area near Seattle, Washington, USA. I'm currently employed full-time with Avalara on Bainbridge Island.
I also do some work a freelance software developer, web developer, technical writer, trainer and consultant.
Web designers and developers: you can hire me to help you build your client's website in the SilverStripe CMS.
I use agile software development methods. I was a co-founder of Agile Sussex, one of the UK's first agile software advocacy organisations. I have considerable experience with the LAMP stack (Python, PHP, Apache, Linux), and some with Java and Javascript.
On and off, I help Professor Andrew Stirling at the University of Sussex (Brighton, England) with his Multicriteria Mapping decision support technique, for which I've developed software tools, written documentation and built a marketing website (which is currently in hiding - nothing to do with me mate).
